Hello.
This weekend my family wanted to eat something else than a cake, they wanted "Faworki". It's very simple, very fast and so, so delicious little snacks, that my mom did them quiet a lot when I was still a kid. So, without any more delay, let's make them.
Ingredients:
eggs - 4 yolks
flour - 400g (2 cups)
sour cream - 125ml (4.2oz)
butter - 50g (0.22 cups)
oil - medium or little larger pot
powdered sugar
Instruction:
So, let's fry some treats.
Take out deep bowl and put everything in to it, except powdered sugar, unless you prefer it to be more sweet, and mix it all together. Make sure butter is in room temperature, it's easier to mix it. If you see that dough is loose and sticky add more flour, consistency really depends on flour, sometimes dough is too hard so you need to add more cream, or lil bit of water (I recommend sparkling).
When dough is nice and ready prepare your table for some rolling. Spill some flour on it, but not too much or it gonna burn in oil, cut some smaller pieces from dough and start rolling it. The thinner the more bubbles at the end. Prepared flattened dough cut in stripes, and than again cut them in to pieces, size doesn't matter too much, and also cut a line in every piece.
Now, this part is little tricky because if you are not careful you can torn apart your dough and start over. So, be careful. Take one corner of your snack, and push it all over inside that hole that we cut earlier. It should look something like this.
Remember, it's not competition, it can be clumsy.
When you finish with all of it, turn on the gas under oil, wait till it's hot, and start fry them, few at the the time, if it gets too crowded in pot they can get stick together. And small tip from me, to avoid burning oil, and foaming oil, you can either turn down oil temperature, or put single potato wedge in it. After literally few seconds flip every single one on the other side, and when it get's nice brown'ish color take them out from the oil on a plate. Split some powdered sugar on every batch before you cover them with another one.
And that's it, it's ready. Just wait a little till cool down and you can eat it. I can assure you everyone would love it
So, enjoy, and remember, have fun and experiment in the kitchen.
Bye.
